Dr. Amir Sariaslan is a Senior Research Fellow at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Helsinki. His research interests primarily focus on gaining deeper insights into the causes and consequences of psychiatric disorders and antisocial behaviours by combining nationwide registry data with quasi-experimental research designs.

Dr. Sariaslan earned his PhD in Epidemiology under the supervision of Professor Paul Lichtenstein at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Karolinska Institutet, in 2015. He subsequently completed his postdoctoral training in Forensic Psychiatric Epidemiology at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford, working with Professor Seena Fazel. Dr. Sariaslan was a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Patrick F. Sullivan‘s lab at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Karolinska Institutet prior to his current appointment.
